The Jenny Yoo Chicago showroom makes this process go by a whole lot easier. The intimate setting carries dresses of varying styles and tastes for any type of bride. From the modern bride to the traditional, the perfect dress was somewhere in that showroom.
Before I describe the loveliness of the dresses, let me mention what led me to Jenny Yoo in the first place. Jenny Yoo Chicago was having a blogger and industry party to unveil the latest offerings of the 2015 bridal gowns and bridesmaid dresses. As guests ogled at the beautiful designs, they nibbled on light bites courtesy of ZED 451 catering. There was a wide array of sweet and savory hors d’oeuvres served throughout the evening. These dishes were complimented with decadent pastries from BomBon Cakes. To satisfy one’s thirst, there was a drink station with pomegranate wine as well a mimosa’s.

As I perused the showroom with drink in hand, I was delighted with the fact that the dresses were quite eclectic and perfect for the modern or traditional bride. Whether you wanted lace, jewels, bright colors, or a simple elegant white dress, there were plenty of options available.
To best compliment the various gowns throughout the showroom, Fleur de Lis Florist bouquets decorated the dress displays.
While there were plenty of gowns that I immediately wanted to whisk away to my own closet, there were two collections that especially caught my eye. Those were the bridal collections of Nicole Miller and Kelly Faetanini.
The Nicole Miller Collection featured gowns that were perfect for the bride to be who wanted to add a little glamour to her walk down the aisle. There was no shortage of stones or intricate details and that was evident from each gown throughout the collection. The craftsmanship was truly phenomenal giving the gowns that one of a kind feel. The collection was reminiscent of old hollywood glam with a touch of modern flair. Instead of the billowy princess gowns that were popular for quite some time; the form fitting silhouette took center stage in this collection. Some gowns were daring with cascading rhinestones; and others were simple featuring lace and a simple jeweled belt. The collection as a whole featured a nice cohesive blend of extravagance that maintained a level of tradition.
Adding a twist to tradition was the exciting and whimsical Kelly Faetanini collection. As I sifted through the racks I saw an abundance of tulle, jewels, lace and peeks of pastel. A wide array of silhouettes from fitted to full were available throughout the collection. The Faetanini collection showed itself to have exceptional execution of current trends that we may notice on the runways of Paris and Milan. From tulle, tiers, and ombre the collection brought both the drama and elegance needed to make an entrance for a wedding. For the modern and contemporary bride, the Kelly Faetanini collection is well suited.
Another personal favorite of mine from the showroom was the Annabelle dress from the Jenny Yoo Collection. This elegant dress featured convertible straps making one dress transform into many dresses. It’s being touted as a bridesmaid dress but I can see this working for a gala. With the convertible straps you can get plenty of uses out of this gown making it a worthwhile investment.
We’ve had drinks, ate quite well and got to see some of the finest gowns for the 2015 bridal season. The party wasn’t even close to being over as there was a photo-op booth complete with props for guests to take fun silly pictures throughout the evening. There was also a raffle where some of the prizes included stationary, dinner for 2, and the dress of your choice from Jenny Yoo. While everyone didn’t go home with the grand prize, all guests left with what I would like to call a wedding planner starter kit. The bag was complete with magazines from CS Modern Luxury and Chicago Weddings, a Kobo guava scented candle (one of the best scents to have graced my nose), coupons from the vendors of the evening, and a sweet wedding dress shaped cookie. It’s safe to assume that Jenny Yoo not only has great dresses but knows how to put on an event.
