The Wedding Party is an annual event which is typically held in New York City, but for the 3rd year in a row, The Wedding Party will be making its triumphant return to The Windy City.
Chic Chicago brides descended upon the elegant setting of the Ritz-Carlton for an afternoon of all things weddings. To prepare for the day ahead, guests were greeted with mimosas and glasses of champagne. Their ears were delighted with the sounds of a string quartet courtesy of Elan Artists.
To begin the day of all things wedding, brides to be were invited to attend a Q&A session with Editorial Director of Martha Stewart Weddings Darcy Miller and Lauren Conrad designer of Paper Crown. Through this Q&A the duo answered a variety of questions from brides to be regarding their upcoming nuptials. From dress ideas to minute details in the wedding planning process, Darcy and Lauren were quite the experts on this topic. They shared tips on personalizing your wedding unique to the interest and talents of the couple. Lauren shared that at her own wedding, her husband sang to her. Through the Q&A brides were put at ease as they heard the questions and stories from Darcy and Lauren who were once in their shoes.
After the brides to be absorbed the knowledge of the wedding experts, it was then time to descend upon the ballroom to be greeted by over 100 of the best wedding vendors in Chicago.
As brides to be perused about the ballroom, there were vendors for catering that served delicious samples from hot plates to sweet desserts. There was no shortage of floral arrangements as the cities best florists brought out their best blooms to the party. For the bride still looking for her dress or her bridesmaid dresses, there was quite a variety of dresses shown throughout the space. Lauren Conrad was also on hand to reveal the latest bridesmaid collection for Paper Crown.
Music filled the room as lively music played for the bride to be still looking for entertainment for her reception. While there was plenty to be seen, and many samples of delicious cakes to be tried, The Wedding Party brought the party from the ballroom to the salon.
Within the salon, guests would learn how to make signature cocktails. For the non-traditional bride, there was a tutorial to make a floral crown. If one was interested in setting the perfect table, there was a lesson on making the perfect napkin fold. And while the day was catered to the bride, grooms were able to get in on the fun with, pocket square and boutonniére lessons.
Many brides had all the tools necessary to plan their wedding courtesy of the great tips learned from Martha Stewart’s Wedding Party. From the Wedding Party, it became all the more clear why the Martha Stewart team is your go-to source for all things weddings.
It was such a pleasure to attend this event with my sister. Mind you neither of us is getting married (she’s already married), but it was fun bonding time, and of course we ate lots of cake. Now that you’ve seen all of the fun, mark your calendars for next year’s Martha Stewart Wedding Party!
