As time has gone by, the Vera Wang brand has been able to evolve to the needs and wants of the modern day bride. Gone are the days where it’s just merely white strapless dresses. Brides now have quite the range of choices. Instead of going strapless, one could have a dress with sleeves. And instead of white, one could opt for a touch of blush or champagne. The innovation that has been seen throughout the years from the Vera Wang Collection is why I was more than thrilled to attend CS Modern Luxury Brides 9th Annual An Evening of Bridal Luxury.
An Evening of Bridal Luxury was held at the always luxurious The Langham Hotel. Featured on the third floor outside of the Devonshire Ballroom was quite the elaborate cocktail hour. As soon as guests walked in they were greeted with a rotating champagne tower. It appeared as champagne would never run out, as champagne was made available throughout the entire evening. As guests sipped on some bubbly, they had the option of eating bites off of the charcuterie setting, as well as small plates courtesy of The Langham Hotel.
HMR Designs provided lovely details with elegant decor scattered throughout the space. Gold accents with lights that let off a purple and pink hue filled the dining halls. As guests enjoyed the company of one another, they were able to sit back and relax in white plush seating.
To get a sneak preview of the Vera Wang Collection, guests were able to get close ups of a few dresses during the cocktail hour. The dresses featured metallic lace designs, with trains flowing along the dining hall floor. The models stood in a statuesque manner as guests snapped away with their camera phones.
Once the cocktail hour had commenced, it was then time to enjoy the F/W 2015 Collection of Vera Wang. As guests made their way to the ballroom, they sat on crisp white sofas surrounding the runway.
This would be the first time the Vera Wang Bridal Collection is viewed after New York Fashion Week. Chicagoans would be treated to the same show, as the one that was premiered at the iconic fashion event. As guests anticipated the gowns arrival, a dramatic art video was shown featuring dresses from the collection.
As the video finished, the music continued and 14 gowns from the collection were paraded down the runway. When observing the F/W 2015 Bridal Collection, one may notice that the collection is reminiscent of the traditional bride with a modern touch. Structured bodices and large gatherings of tulle were prominent features throughout the collection. As a way to add a modern touch to traditional bridal gowns, the gowns featured additions such as embellishment on the shoulders, plunging necklines, and dramatic sleeves. The overall structure and fit of the gowns varied in terms of fitted to full princess style skirts.
The finale dress brought the drama while featuring a full skirt, with a plunging neckline. As Brides are veering away from traditional white, this dress was golden and champagne in hue. Upon analysis of the Vera Wang Collection, this collection is able to appeal to a variety of tastes for the modern day bride.
While the main event had been completed, this evening of luxury had not ended as guests were treated to an hour of desserts. Cupcakes and sweet delights were served throughout the dining area. To go along with the bridal theme, all the desserts featured tones of white and cream. Judging by the lines at the cupcake tables, I think it’s safe to say that everyone was looking forward to dessert.
CS Modern Luxury Brides 9th Annual An Evening of Bridal Luxury was quite the event, and I was more than thrilled to be in attendance. I think it’s quite safe to say that I will be sure to be at the 10th Annual Evening of Bridal Luxury and any CS Modern Luxury events. They sure do know how to throw quite the event! 🙂
