It’s that time of year again. The time where Chicago’s elite gather for an evening of fashion and philanthropy. This evening is better known as A Better Chicago’s annual fashion fete with Saks Fifth Avenue.

With the illustrious Museum of Contemporary Art serving as the backdrop yet again, this would make for the perfect setting for the electrifying and daring Fendi collection.

This coveted fashion ticket of the year is marked on everyone’s calendar due to the exclusive nature of the event.  Chicagoans didn’t have to go to Milan to see Fendi. All we had to do was endure a few weeks of patience, and the pre-fall collection would come right to us in Chicago. Cheapest flight to Milan ever. For those who couldn’t wait to have the collection in their closet, guests could make pre-orders at Saks Fifth Avenue.

This year’s event was hosted by the fabulous Amy Everard, Trisha Rooney, Shannon Schuyler and Claire York. They each donned their finest Fendi giving attendees just a taste of what we could expect walking down the runway.

The Show

The show opened with a bold mix of playful patterns. Warm autumnal hues transported us away from Spring and right into Fall.

Exquisite textures from ranging from animal print furs, luminous metallic, to delicate floral cut outs earned the praise of onlookers.

Bold billowing ruffles and an elegant touch of denim were also a standout moment for the collection. However, accessories were truly having a moment with multi-color pom-pom sandals and gold metallic booties taking center stage.

Making A Better Chicago

It was yet another successful year where Chicago’s finest philanthropists and fashionistas gathered to support a worthy cause. While enjoying the exquisite fashions, attendees walked away knowing that all proceeds of the event supports A Better Chicago.

One of the many reasons why you should know about A Better Chicago, is because they  strive to make Chicago a better place.

In order to do this, they support the city’s most innovative and effective non-profits by providing educational opportunities to the underserved.  To date, they have raised millions of dollars which has positively affected the lives of Chicago youth.

With not an empty seat in sight, I think it’s safe to say this was yet another win for fashion and philanthropy.

See you next year!
