Dylan’s Candy Bar is the largest emporium of candy in the world featuring hundreds of candies. From chunks of Rock Candy to a Hershey Bar, you name it, Dylan has it. As one walks into Dylan’s candy land, one is immediately transported to a world that is bursting at the seams with vibrant colors and oozing with sweetness. A giant lollipop tree stands tall in the center, with columns of candy all around. Having locations in New York, Miami, and Las Vegas just to name a few, it is now available in the foodie centric city of Chicago.
While Chicagoans love their food, it makes perfect sense that we now have a store dedicated to fully satisfying our sweet tooth. To celebrate the grand opening of the candy filled space, the grandest opening that Chicago had ever seen had taken place. In conjunction with Michigan Avenue Magazine, the space was transformed into a candy filled heaven. The happy go lucky Dylan’s Candy Bar bunny welcomed guests as he danced around the party. Servers paraded about with candy cocktails, nibbles of popcorn and an exquisite banana pudding. Party tables were filled to the brim with gobs of candy such as Laffy Taffy and Lollipops. By the way, this all was happening on just the first floor of the store. As one made their way upstairs the candy corridor, they were greeted with a chocolate fondue station and an elaborate candy bar where guests filled their bags of candy to the brim.
The lady of the hour Dylan Lauren herself greeted guests and welcomed them into the world of Dylan’s Candy Bar. The Lauren family also made a brief appearance as they delighted in many of the treats available at the party.

While Dylan’s Candy Bar features every type of candy imaginable, the Chicago location is taking things up a notch as it features a full-service dining area. I’m sure this will be quite the sweet escape for Chicagoans all year long.
From candy-flavored cocktails to delicious bar bites, Dylan’s is proving to Chicagoans that they can keep up with the foodie-friendly city with the newly opened Cafe & Bar. Adults can relive their childhood fantasies with a PB& J Sandwich and a Grilled Cheese while sipping on a sweet cocktail. However, where Dylan’s really shines are the immaculate desserts. Traditional desserts are given the Dylan’s Candy Bar twist with the imaginative dessert pizzas. You’ve more than likely never even heard of a dessert pizza, until I mentioned it in this post. With names like Monkey Business, Cookie Butter, Chocolate Strawberry, and S’mores, the dessert pizza offerings are bringing a new type of shareable dessert the Windy City has never seen before.
Of course with it being Dylan’s Candy Bar, it only makes sense that the sundaes are just as whimsical as the other menu offerings. Cheesecake lovers can delight in the large chunks of cheesecake in the Cheesecake Fantasy. Pieces of Kit Kat Bars and Reeses Peanut Butter Cups are swirled around the Candy Bar Blast Sundae. One can even get a little adventurous, and change up the ice cream and create their own unique sundae. When my friend Jillian and I went, we ordered the Cheesecake Fantasy but substituted the Orea Ice Cream for the Candy Bar Blast Ice Cream. Highly recommend this combo, as we were able to devour the entire sundae with no hesitation. And don’t forget to sample the many delectable flavors! Having sampled at least 5, I’m sure any of the sundaes will be a welcome Summer treat.
The arrival of Dylan’s Candy Bar is quite a big deal for Chicago. Who knew that we needed a place to satisfy our sweet tooth while having a delicious cocktail at the bar? With this newest addition to the world of sweets in the Windy City, I’m sure Dylan’s Candy Bar will easily be able to make themselves right at home and continue their reign of the world’s largest candy emporium.
