As I was perusing through my Instagram feed, I came across a page of beautifully crafted peonies and tulips with food offerings such as peppermint candies and colorful macarons. Featuring gold accents with a sleek elegant design, you would think that I was glancing through the pages of a magazine. I knew immediately that this was a space I had to see for myself. I present to you the loft of event planner to the stars Debi Lilly.
This Parisian inspired space is located in Lincoln Park, located above Debi Lilly’s event planning store A Perfect Event. Who would have ever thought that you don’t need to leave Chicago for a Parisian get away. From the décor to the coffee table books, I’ve never seen a space that pays so much attention to detail. There were vintage wine glasses and chandeliers that sparkled which indeed make an event the perfect event.
During my visit to DLLoft. I attended a taping of the Chicago lifestyle program Chicagonistas. The episode that was being filmed was all about getting into the Holiday spirit. Debi was the perfect hostess offering a Prosecco drink as well as making guests a “Real Russian” cocktail. Goddess and the Grocer provided catering which featured a well orchestrated spread of vegetables, cheeses and other bite sized hors d’oeuvres. Desserts by Toni Patisserie were lined up on glass mirrors. You almost didn’t want to mess up the display since the treats were almost too beautiful to eat.
Throughout the event, I was well fed as I mixed and mingled with some of Chicago’s most prominent bloggers. The show featured Holiday decorating ideas, a cooking segment on chocolate covered cookie dough bites, and a conversation about the current state of blogging. It was very informative, and I was honored to be among some of the pioneers of blogging.
