SUMMARY:2015 Black Harvest Film Festival
DESCRIPTION:Beginning on August 8th\, the Siskel Film Center will celebrate the achievements of Black Film with the 21st Annual Black Harvest. The month-long celebration will document varying stories about the black experience ranging from stories told about the Black Panther movement\, to stories of growing up on the south side of Chicago.\n\nAs viewers watch the films\, they are introduced to thought-provoking subject matter that highlights the black experience. For movie attendees with burning questions\, some of the screenings will even have the actors and actors present available for a discussion.\n\nThe festival ends its run September 3rd where a closing night reception by Whole Foods will follow the screening.\n\nTickets for all of the films are available at SiskelFilmCenter.org

DESCRIPTION:To kick off the Siskel Film Center's Annual Black Harvest Film Festival\, On August 8th\, the festival is hosting their annual Black Harvest Feast. To welcome the celebration of black film\, NBC's LeeAnn Trotter will serve as the Master of Ceremonies for the evening. Guests will receive an exclusive sneak peek of the festival through 5 short films. And for a rare opportunity\, many of the filmmakers will be in attendance ready to answer attendees burning questions.\n\nSince this is indeed a celebration of the achievements of blacks and films\, the festival will present  The Deloris Jordan Award for Excellence in Community Leadership to Jackie Taylor who is the founder and executive director of Chicago’s Black Ensemble Theater.\n\nFollowing the presentation\, guests will be treated to a reception at the Joffrey Tower at the Joffrey Ballet of Chicago.\n\nThe festival begins its run August 8th-September 3rd.\n\nTickets for the opening night reception as well as all of the films are available at SiskelFilmCenter.org
